Goals

  • To identify and treat risk factors of osteoporosis
  • To promote good bone health

In Canada, osteoporosis affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men. Female patients over 55 years and males over 65 are automatically enrolled for a bone mineral density test (BMD).

Osteoporosis can be detected with regular screening and is easily treated with regular follow ups. Having a BMD is an important part of staying healthy.

Osteoporosis management program aims to prevent and monitor loss of bone density through ongoing BMD testing, assessment of risk factors, as well as medication reviews, bloodwork, and patient education.
